The Council invites proposals promoting outreach and engagement activities that involve faculty, students, and staff in partnership with local and regional constituents to address the needs of citizens in Montana and beyond.

Areas of Responsibility

  • Guide involvement in outreach, engagement, and leadership activities through systematic assessment, reporting, and policy development to fulfill the commitments of a Carnegie Community Engaged Institution. MSU received the Carnegie Community Engagement Classification in 2010.
  • Strategically guide outreach, engagement, and leadership at MSU by collaborating with off-campus communities and other external partners, leveraging resources and pursuing extramural funding.
  • Support Engagement activities associated with MSU's strategic plans: Choosing Promise (Adopted 2019) and Learners and Leaders (2012-2018)
